It’s mission accomplished for Jude’s High Flying Birds; all eight have landed safely after completing their daredevil zip wire challenge, raising over £3,000 for House of Bread.
Jude Cave, a much loved volunteer at House of Bread, passed away unexpectedly at New Year. Her friends, who had all worked alongside her in prison education, decided to honour her memory by doing something she loved – ‘zipping’ and ‘flying high’.
And so, on Sunday, 5th October 2025, they bravely took on ‘The Phoenix’, a 70mph, thrill seekers zip line that soars high above the South Wales landscape.
Susan Gwyer, one of the eight, said about Jude, “She was the giver of stars. Throughout her life she always worked to lift people up enabling them to shine.” After the challenge Susan added, “We were certainly both ‘lifted up’ and left ‘uplifted’ by the challenge!“
What a wonderful way to remember a wonderful lady!
