It’s been just over a month since our Community Garden was officially opened and we are pleased to report that it is blooming with wildlife and chatter. We like to think of it as an urban oasis on our doorstep that has become a tranquil meeting place for residents as well as a haven for wildlife. The success of the garden is a clear example of how collaboration brings results. Working with the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, Turning Point, Prima magazine and local businesses, our hard-working volunteers and friends have been able to bring this once neglected piece of land back to life, both revitalising and repurposing it.
On 8th August 2024, the leader of Stafford Borough Council, Aidan Godfrey, and Universal Woman Great Britain, Natalie Mageza, cut the ribbon to officially open our garden. It was wonderful to see so many people attend the grand opening, and it has been even more wonderful to see how much the garden has been used over the last month. We’re looking forward to seeing how the garden changes with the seasons and would like to thank everyone involved for making this community project such a huge success.
